Laurence Tiennot-Herment
Laurence Tiennot-Herment was born in Normandy, France. She trained as a chartered accountant. After her son, Charles-Henri, was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 1987, Tiennot-Herment became a volunteer for AFM-Téléthon, the French muscular dystrophy association; she became the association's president in 2003. Tiennot-Herment is a director of the Imagine Institute, a research and innovative health care institute that aims to cure genetic diseases, and a founding member of the French foundation for rare diseases.
