Sabila Khatun
Sabila Khatun was born in Sundarpur, Nepal. In 1993, she and her husband, together with four children, moved to Kathmandu to find work. Unable to find employment and unsupported by her alcoholic husband, Khatun and her children were forced to beg for money and sleep on the streets. A mother of eight, Khatun has gone on to become a tradesperson; with this income and the financial support of foreigners, she has been able to provide an education for six of her children.
